Elgin Music Festival

A music festival designed to make an entire town feel like the venue.

[ In motion · 2026 ]

[ THE SHORT VERSION ]

The Elgin Music Festival is a local-first, walkable celebration spread across stages, storefronts, sidewalks, and the spaces between them. I direct the festival as both a cultural event and a piece of civic design: a reason to discover an artist, a business, or a corner of town you had missed.

01 · The idea

The city is the venue

Rather than seal music inside a festival footprint, the event connects downtown venues, public spaces, local businesses, buskers, and audiences into one moving experience.

02 · The method

Local first, not local only

The program begins with the talent already here, then adds carefully chosen draws that widen the audience without flattening the town’s identity.

03 · The future

A tradition with roots

Youth participation, artist partnerships, repeatable systems, and year-over-year fundraising are meant to make the festival more durable than any one lineup.
