Uncle Quinn’s Garage

Old machines, new tools, and the honest education of doing it yourself.

[ Ongoing ]

[ THE SHORT VERSION ]

Uncle Quinn’s Garage is the public notebook for my automotive work—especially the odd, charming ecosystem around classic Datsuns and Nissans. It is less about presenting effortless expertise than showing the real sequence: notice, misunderstand, test, learn, fix, repeat.

01 · The cars

Datsuns, mostly

The 240Z, 280ZX, Roadster, and their extended family provide a nearly endless supply of design problems, obsolete parts, and excellent excuses to make something.

02 · The shop

A working laboratory

Mechanical repair lives beside CAD, 3D printing, wiring, lighting, fabrication, and experiments that start with ‘surely there’s a better way.’

03 · The channel

Show the process

Videos and field notes capture the wrong turns as well as the breakthroughs. The useful knowledge is often hiding in the bit that didn’t work.
